Gösta’s Ring transforms the Serlachius Museum into a world-class Center for the continual exhibition, preservation and advancement of Finish art. The central heart functions as the hub for the entire insitution, it animates both the new programs and the existing buildings by creating a space of interaction, leisure and event while maintaining 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape. The Ring is breaking the extension’s madd into individuated program volumes, which promotes a communal use of the site while respecting the scale of the existing site and enabling a greater specificity, differentiation and flexibility for each function.
