Block by Block is a study assessing the environmental effectiveness, cost effectiveness, feasibility, and developmental potentials for an incremental transformation of post-Olympic Beijing into a self-sufficient, clean-energy metropolis while maintaining its rapid economic, political and physical growth. By assessing the rate of energy consumption over a discreet unit of the city that the appropriate scopeof change– from a complete urban infrastructural overall to individual store bought solar water heaters – can be determined and subsequently activated by both government and private initiative.
